Moving house tips.

  • Disconnect electric equipment and secure wiring.

  • Ensure there is parking for the removal truck close to the properties.

  • Know where your furniture is going in your new house.

  • If you are packing up your own house, ensure this is done before the moving company arrives.

  • Mark each box with the room where it is to go.

  • Mark boxes containing breakable items - 'fragile'.

  • Put all the items that you need first in a separate box and mark it as 'last load'.

  • Leave the kettle, mugs, tea, coffee, sugar and milk until last.
